As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting local communities across South Wales, Robert Price Builders\u2019 Merchant<\/strong> recently donated a large quantity of building materials to Pill Harriers RFC<\/strong> in Newport \u2014 helping the club refurbish and expand their changing room facilities.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1981, Pill Harriers RFC is a proud community rugby club based in Pillgwenlly (Pill). Over the years, the club has grown steadily, now running three men\u2019s teams and reintroducing youth sides for the upcoming season. Beyond sport, the club plays an important role in the local community \u2014 offering a welcoming space for people of all ages and backgrounds to come together, stay active, and enjoy the social and mental health benefits of team sport.<\/p>\n

Improving Facilities for a Growing Club<\/strong><\/p>\n

With a growing membership, the club\u2019s existing facilities were struggling to keep up with demand. Limited changing space meant that all three men\u2019s teams, and now the returning youth teams, were having to share the same area on match days. The facilities had become outdated and no longer met the needs of players, coaches, and visitors.<\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n\n

Working Together to Make It Happen<\/strong><\/p>\n

When we heard about the club\u2019s refurbishment plans, we were delighted to get involved. Robert Price provided a significant donation of building materials to help the project move forward.<\/p>\n

This was a true community effort, with additional support from Hedyn Housing Association<\/strong>, Davies Contractors Ltd <\/strong>and SD Maintenance<\/strong>, who carried out the refurbishment works. Together, the partnership made it possible for Pill Harriers RFC to deliver much-needed improvements that will benefit players and supporters for years to come.<\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n\n

The Result<\/strong><\/p>\n

With the refurbishment now complete, Pill Harriers RFC has a much more functional and welcoming environment for everyone who uses the facilities. The upgrades will:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Provide dedicated changing areas for all three men\u2019s teams.<\/li>\n
  • Support the launch of new youth teams, encouraging more young people to get involved in sport.<\/li>\n
  • Improve match-day organisation and the overall experience for players, staff, and visitors.<\/li>\n
  • Help the club continue its competitive success, including strong recent performances in the Welsh Cup.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
